Ready To Get Some Money
There are a lot of ways to make some extra money on the weekend. Some of them require little work and some of them require a lot of doing, but if you need money, you need to do what you need to do. So, if you need cash, stop feeling sorry for yourself and get to work. Here are some of your choices.
1. Help Others & Make Money
If you are good with the needle, you can help others while making some extra money on the side. How? By giving plasma.
Companies need plasma in order to make life saving drugs and treatments. These are for profit companies and they will compensate you for your time.
It takes about an hour to donate plasma and you will earn about $30 to $50 for your time. Not a bad hourly rate as long as you are not squeamish. You can donate up to twice a week but not two days in a row, so you will only be able to donate once on the weekend. Still, up to $50 is not bad for about an hours time.
To qualify to donate plasma, you need to be over 110 pounds and in good physical health. If you meet those requirements, all that you need to do is find a local plasma donation center, don’t worry, they are everywhere. Just do a search online.
Donating plasma is also very easy. During the process, you can read, watch television or catch up with social media. In addition, because your red blood cells are returned to you in the process, you do not have any of the weakness or dizziness commonly associated with giving blood.
So, consider giving blood if you could use up to $50 right now and want to get $250 or more in extra money a month.
2. Have A Garage Sale
Does the thought of sitting in your driveway all weekend watching people sort through your stuff make you cringe? If your answer is yes, get over it, because a garage sale is one of the bet ways to get extra money in a pinch. Plus, you get to get rid of a bunch of the clutter in your home.
To throw a successful garage sale, you need to do one thing, advertise. You have got to get people to show up and to do this, you need signage. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of poster board signs. Make them easy to read and eye catching. Place them at the entrance of your neighborhood and then at every turn. You need to make a trail of bread crumbs leading right to your driveway. Trust me, people are out on the weekends looking for signs, you just need to make them see yours.
And, about that all weekend thing, there is no need. M0st of your business will be in the first few hours of the day on Saturday and Sunday. Close up shop by noon each day and get 300 dollars or more in your pocket.
3. Collect & Sell Recyclable Metal
This is a nice little money maker that most people do not know about. There are metal salvage yards out there that are screaming for used metal to recycle and they will pay you to bring it to them.
Collecting aluminum cans is just the beginning. Yes they will be happy to take them but they will also take in used refrigerators, dishwashers, barbecue grills and just about anything made of metal. What so many people just throw away or push to the curb could be money in your pockets.
If you have a truck or a trailer, this is a particularly easy way to make extra money. Just drive around and see what people are throwing away. Make sure that it really is trash and if you are picking through piles, be sure t be neat. You can also post ads on Craigslist offering to haul off metal. Most people do not want to be bothered with selling it and will happily hand it over to you.
If you decide to go this route for weekend money, be sure to get up early on Saturdays. Most metal yards will close earlier than normal on Saturday and will not be open at all on a Sunday. If you are an early bird though, this is a great way to get $150 or more in a single day.
4. Sell A Hot Ticket Item On Craigslist
Craigslist is a great way to make money but not everything sells quickly on this website. Sometimes, you have to wait days ore weeks to get a sale, which can be a real bummer if you need money on the weekend.
Notice though that I said, not everything. There are some things that sell very quickly on Craigslist and if you have a hot item, you could have it sold in a matter of hours.
Items like washing machines, clothes dryers, video games and tools sell very fast on Craigslist. If you have one of these things, list it on Craigslist and you will have your money before you know it.
To make the most out of your Craigslist listing, you need to describe it well and take a lot of pictures. You have a phone on your camera so not including a few pictures is just being lazy. Also, be sure to fully describe the item and list its name in the manufacturer box, etc. Craigslist uses a simple ranking algorithm, so the more times you list the name of the item and all of the variations of the name, the more attention your ad will get.
When it comes time to make the sale, only accept cash and meet in person at a highly visible location, and only during the day. Also remember, that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Selling something locally is a great way to get 300 dollars or more with very little work, you just need to have the right item.
Wrapping Things Up
As you can see, it really is relatively easy to get a few hundred dollars in a single weekend. Just put in a little work and time and your money problems could be solved rather quickly.
